Overview:

Davidson Family Services has a unique job opportunity in the Hendersonville, Tryon, Columbus areas of NC working with individuals with special needs. We seek dependable and caring people with a passion for helping others. Our services go beyond taking care of individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). We strive to help our members be the best person that they can be and teach them to live their lives as independently as possible.

Responsibilities may include:

• Transporting the individual into the community or outdoor activities
• Providing medication administration
• Positive interactions with family members and guardians
• De-escalation and redirection of triggers and behaviors
• Personal care may be required (helping with food, sleep, personal hygiene)

Requirements:

• Must pass qualifying drug test and background check
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
• Minor lifting may be required
• Bending over / stretching
• Good oral and written communication
• Attend all necessary training

Alternative or additional requirements may be necessary depending on the individual's need.

Education and Experience:

• Must be age 18 or older
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• At least one year of experience with I/DD services preferred
• Mental health experience preferred
• Medical field experience is a plus

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:

• Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
