Job description
Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, the Digital Marketing Specialist will develop, manage and execute social and digital media strategies that support enrollment health, enhance the student experience and position the College as a community asset.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create content for William Jewell’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and LinkedIn
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a social media editorial calendar including mediums, content themes and target markets, while providing performance metrics
  • Ensure alignment of institutional mission, values, branding and outcomes in all media initiatives
  • Create compelling, creative and action-oriented digital content and print material for communication workflows, communication campaigns, internal marketing and special events
  • Conduct research and seek approval for innovative and relevant digital media initiatives
  • Select student workers and manage their day-to-day assignments
  • Assist with website updates
  • Help write and execute marketing campaigns for departments and programs
  • Generate stories on students, faculty, staff and alumni to use in marketing efforts
  • Assist Director of Marketing with oversight of freelance vendors
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Formal training in project management and creativity ideation / deployment
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Competitive spirit and strong work ethic
  • Strong analytic ability, creativity, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro and editing software
  • Proficiency in photography and videography a plus
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors’ degree, supplemented with at least two years of social and digital media management, marketing and project management
