GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for writing and managing web and social media content, using creativity and strong, effective writing skills. Will incorporate established marketing strategies to engage customers and ensure that they have a positive experience with library products and services. Will monitor and analyze information such as web traffic, statistics, and other metrics to create content that raises public awareness.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop a web content strategy that encompasses both short-term and long-term organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Collaboratively design and develop site content, design, and layout in tandem with the graphic designer.
  • Maintain a content marketing/editorial calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year
  • Manage email lists and carry out email marketing initiatives using a variety of platforms
  • Use target keywords to write search-engine copy that is optimized for search engines (SEO) while remaining entertaining and informative
  • Generate, edit, and maintain metadata for content
  • Daily monitoring of library website and social media accounts to identify issues, customer interaction, trends, etc.
  • Edit, proofread, and post staff generated content
  • Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and user engagement metrics
  • Increase web traffic across platforms by managing content distribution to online channels and social media.
  • Stay abreast of current best practices, both in our industry and other industries, review outside websites to compare their activities with those of CCPL
  • Ensure all data and work is legally compliant (e.g. copyright protection)
  • Remain current on developments and generate new ideas of interest to diverse audiences.
  • Create effective and accessible content for all audiences
  • Serves on committees and participates in workshops, seminars, and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, Web Design, Marketing or relevant field.
  • Three (3) or more years of content coordinator experience or related fields.
  • Expertise with using SEO best practices to write creative copy that includes effective keyword placement.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Knowledge and technical experience using MS Office and MS 365.
  • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines for digital content.
  • Ability to conceive fresh and appealing ideas for new content that establishes or supports CCPL brand.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible and patient with customers and staff.
  • Ability to think outside the box and problem solve.
  • Ability to consistently create new and stimulating designs.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented work style with exceptional time management and organizational expertise.
  • Proven record of creating effective content for specific audiences and meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of web publishing and computer literacy skills, including writing, interpreting, and editing HTML scripts as well as a

  • Valid Driver’s License

EQUIPMENT:

Personal computer, laptop, tablets, printers, scanners, photocopier, AV equipment, laminator, and book trucks.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in normal heat and light conditions with some exposure to seasonal draft conditions. Some eye fatigue from working at computer terminal.

SCHEDULE:

Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week. Potential for hybrid/remote work arrangement. May occasionally be needed to serve on-call to post weather-related and emergency operation notifications.
