Holton Manor, a Five Star Skilled Nursing and Rehab Facility is seeking:

Dietary Aides for the following positions:

Full Time 1st Shift 5:30am-2pm. Rotating weekends and holiday.

Part Time 1st Shift 5:30am-2pm. Rotating weekends and holiday.

$14-$16.10 per hour

Duties include: Kitchen Prep, minor cooking, passing out meals, cleaning kitchen areas, stocking kitchen supplies, and ensuring residents dining experience is fulfilling.

Must be a team player and love to work with the elderly and disabled population.


Qualifications:

Must be at least 15 years of age.

Must be able to waist lift a minimum of 50# and overhead lift a maximum of 25#, with frequent waist lifting and overhead lifting objects up to 25#. Must be able to push/pull objects with a maximum effort of 25#.

Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day.

Must be able to frequently bend, squat, and twist body in an 8-hour day.

Must be able to attend mandatory all staff meetings and dietary department meetings.

Must be able to read and write.

Responsibilities:

Maintains sanitation standards in all household areas. Hair nets, aprons, and name tags are to be worn in the kitchen area at all times. Plastic gloves must be worn while touching food.

Prepares and assists with the set-up, serving and clean-up service of hot and cold beverages, meals, desserts and nourishments.

Assists residents during mealtimes within the scope of training.

Clearing, washing and put away dishes and utensils from meal service.

Knowledge of use of dish machine and proper cleaning, draining, ect.

Maintains a basic knowledge of diets, portion sizes and meal intake documenting process. Light food preparation is a duty of this position, i.e., waffles eggs etc.

Notifies supervisor when a resident indicates a desire to alter meal or snack preference.

Uses proper food labeling and food storage procedures for both refrigerated and dry goods. Date and label leftovers rotate food stock per established standards.

Receives and stores food items and supplies assuring all refrigerated and frozen items are placed in the refrigerator or freezer immediately after receipt or use.

Observes all safety rules to protect residents, visitors and co-workers from known or predictable kitchen/household hazards.

Maintains daily household records including but not limited to refrigerator and freezer temperature logs, dishwasher temperature logs, food temperature logs and cleaning and supply logs. Collect and tally of all menus.

Welcomes new residents during the move in process, making every effort with the rest of the care team to learn as much as possible about the resident’s habits, customs, routines, and preferences, explain menu and how to fill it out. Provide “Always available food list”.

Informs Dietary Supervisor of resident’s problems, needs or concerns.

Responsible for safe work practices. Complies with all safety regulations and policies.

Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent facility, staff, and resident care information.

Participates in in-service education classes, on the job training programs and household meetings as required.
