RCA Healthcare Management is seeking pool Dietary Aides to support our facilities throughout New York State, including Allegany, East Aurora, Gasport, Orchard Park, Painted Post, and Westfield.

ABOUT US:
Absolut Care comprises six senior living facilities throughout New York State, including five skilled nursing facilities and one assisted living facility. Our facilities are located in Allegany, East Aurora, Gasport, Orchard Park, Painted Post, and Westfield. We offer services, including subacute rehab, long-term care, and hospice.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The successful candidate will have a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

Provides and maintains a high standard of food service, sanitary, and safety conditions for patients, residents, visitors, and employees as directed/instructed and by established dietary policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves timely, palatable, and delicious meals in appearance and accordance with established portion control procedures and therapeutic diets.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties by established policies and procedures, including but not limited to work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, sweeping/mop floors as directed, carrying soiled utensils/dishes to work areas, washing, and cleaning utensils as required, empty trash containers into dumpsters, clean cans and replace trash can liners
• Keeps work area dry and free of hazards and sanitizes dining room table and chairs
• Operates dish machine using proper sanitizing and safety techniques. Rinse racks, and place dishes into the dish machine
• Washes pots and pans as per facility policies and procedures
• Places groceries, meats, and supply items in appropriate storage areas as directed
• Transfers food trucks from the dietary department to assigned areas safely and promptly.
• Utilizes and maintains all equipment appropriately, i.e., dish machine, coffee urn, refrigerators, mixers, blender, and toaster.
• Prepares and portions food items such as desserts, salads, juices, coffee, and nourishments
• Assists in inventory and proper storing of foods, supplies, etc. as directed
• Provides courteously cleaning and busing of tables in dining rooms as instructed.
• Makes efforts to ensure that resident's needs and preferences are accommodated, i.e., alternate menus offered, special nourishments/snacks provided upon request, etc.

Role Responsibilities-Safety:

• Follows all safety regulations, food safety regulations, and facilities policies and procedures
• Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment and accidents/incidents to shift supervisor
• Accurately take and record temperatures of food, beverages, and equipment as directed by the Food Service Director, Assistant Food Service Director, and Dietary Supervisor every meal

Resident Care Responsibilities-Infection Care:

• Demonstrates knowledge of and implements Universal Precautions and all Infection Control protocol
• Washes hands between resident contacts as appropriate
• Handle linen and disposes of waste properly
• Demonstrates ability to care for residents in isolation precautions
• Ability to work independently, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to complete work assignments accurately and promptly
• Knowledge of environmental services
• Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions
• Excellent time management skills
• Flexibility with work schedule, including the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Ability to work independently and with other staff and team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred - Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must be punctual, reliable, and flexible

• Must be able to work in close cooperation with others as well as independently

• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable

• Strong customer service skills and compassion
