Job description
Description:The Dietary Aide/ Dietary Clerk will follow all departmental procedures in preparation of diets for patients. Will demonstrate the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities for special diet calculation. Will follow department procedure for tray assembly. Will utilizes weights and measures to assure proper portioning. Will supervise the tray-line and PM staff. Will deliver trays to patients. Will follow all sanitation & food safety guidelines. Will coordinate area to ensures timeliness of duties. Will assist with functions as needed and prep some cold food items for cafeteria. Will be responsible on PM shift for closing at night including locking designated doors. Will operate the cash register. Will assist in the training of new staff members. Will attend department specific in service programs and mandatory hospital wide programs.
Requirements:
Experience: One or more years in food service. Minimum One year on the job training. Preferred two years experience. Knowledge and experience working on computers. Basic knowledge in Nutrition Therapy.
