Position Summary:
Design work related to new product development and current product management. Responsibilities will include hands-on work building prototypes and troubleshooting. Highly motivated quick learners will excel in this position.
Job Functions:
  • Utilize CREO CAD software for Design work related to new product development and current product management.
  • Analyze designs utilizing detailed calculations, DFMEA, FEA, and motion studies.
  • Create detailed part/assembly drawings utilizing internal and industry drawing standards.
  • Create detailed cost estimates to determine feasibility and cost targets.
  • Develop task schedules to track project status and meet deadlines.
  • Support service department in the development of manuals.
  • Support test engineers by providing any necessary data.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to design sheet metal parts, machined parts, and welded assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical is a plus
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and team working skills.
  • Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting. Must be able to navigate all areas of the building and facility as needed. May occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds in an office, customer or similar setting. Must be aware of surroundings.
  • Must use appropriate PPE including but not limited to safety toe shoes/boots and safety glasses.
  • Appropriately interact with others in stressful and busy situations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international.
Job Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school.
  • Two to five years of experience as a design engineer working with heavy equipment or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic and/or electrical design is a plus.
  • Experience in operating heavy equipment and shop equipment (mill, lathe, welder, and plasma cutter) is a plus.
  • This position is full time and based in Adairsville, GA.
