Job description

The Barron Area School District is seeking a day custodian/maintenance person to begin immediately. This position will be split between two locations-Almena Elementary School and the Barron High School.

1. High school diploma or GED.

2. Ability to frequently and safely lift objects weighing at least 50 lbs. Ability to squat, climb, bend, and twist. Perform repetitive movements consistent with the job responsibilities.

3. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

4. Any combination of education and relevant experience as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

5. Due to the responsibilities, knowledge, and safety requirements, day-shift custodians are required to complete and pass a maintenance test. The subjects of which may include, but are not limited to: custodial responsibilities, safety, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical. The candidate must be or able to be “lock out-tag out” certified and respond to alarm calls as required. Candidate must also be qualified to do preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair the various systems as determined by the supervisor and/or District needs.

Candidates must also hold a Valid Wisconsin Drivers License. Applicant must possess a positive attitude, enjoy being in the presence of all children including those who have disabilities.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
