Job Description

KIPP TEAM & Family’s Data team seeks a full-time Analyst to expand and improve how we use data to support our students on their path to college, careers and choice-filled lives. This is an exciting and fast-paced role that will directly impact how our organization uses data to improve student academic achievement and school health. Expect to collaborate with awesome teammates, learn and build skills, and have some fun!

This is a primary remote role that may have up to 8-10 travel requirements per year for in-person meetings or professional development events. Office space is available to use in Newark, Camden or Miami for hybrid work options as well.

The Data Analyst responsibilities will include but not limited to, the following:

Improve and Build Data Products (50%)

  • Design, build, maintain, and improve tools to provide insight into student data with an equity lens (tools are primarily built in Tableau)
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization from board members to school leaders and teachers to gather input and feedback to drive the design process
  • Develop and implement scalable documentation, communication and training efforts that drive effective usage

Support Data Protocols with Key Stakeholders (10%)

  • Support multiple data protocols that require accurate and organized data management such as moving, transforming, organizing data sets for key meetings or reports
  • Support our Teaching and Learning and Regional Leader/School Management teams - provide documentation, training and insights - Audit, monitor and take action to drive data quality

Optimize User and Systems Support (20%)

  • Solve user support requests, or escalate to appropriate teams across academic, data or technology functions for data products and digital learning platforms (such as iReady, Illuminate, PowerSchool, Google Classroom)
  • Translate user feedback and requests to drive prioritization of improvements to products

Manage Compliance Data (20%)

  • Support compliance reporting and data management functions, primarily around academic/student domains
  • Ensure accuracy of compliance data sets

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Love of data!
  • Love of problem solving, collaboration and a drive to learn
  • A proven record of building trust and engaging in deep collaboration with a wide range of teammates
  • Deep commitments to both racial and educational equity
  • Advanced mastery of spreadsheet software (Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel)
  • Experience using SQL, or other programming languages
  • Proficiency using Tableau is preferred, or experience with other business intelligence tools
  • Experience in K-12 academics or operations at school or district levels
  • Excellent writing and communication skills that build trust and credibility with stakeholders
  • Attention to detail that upholds data integrity and accuracy
  • Experience with project or product management responsibilities is preferred

We benchmark annually against comparably-sized non-profit organizations in the regions where we operate, to offer competitive salaries. The salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $110,000.
