The Department of Pathology of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) seek an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position (at the Clinical Instructor in the Health Sciences Series or an Assistant Professor level in the Health Sciences Series or Clinical X Series) as an anatomic and cytopathologist. Fellowship training in surgical pathology and/or a surgical pathology subspecialty in head and neck, gynecologic pathology or urologic pathology is preferred. The individual will also be expected to participate in clinical research. She/he is expected to have strong interpersonal skills and will participate in departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and fellows, and in interdepartmental conferences. Appointment and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and training.

Candidates must have a valid California medical license (or qualifications to obtain one by time of appointment), and be Board Certified or eligible for certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Preference will be given to candidates with qualifications in cytopathology, a surgical pathology fellowship, and/or anatomic pathology subspecialty fellowship training.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $116,900 - $177,800. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
