Job description

Duties Include:

  • Handle verbal and written requests for quotations, product, product information, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers.
  • Process orders, order changes, adjustments, and coordinates with other departments, suppliers, and trucking companies to provide service to customers.
  • Arrange and track freight, invoice customers and authorize related invoices for payment.
  • Verifies freight bills and follow up if there is a discrepancy. Assist in resolving payment issues.
  • Ensures inventories are adequate for customers.
  • Enter, change, retrieve, and maintain customer information, product availability, scheduling information, status of purchase orders, etc. through the company’s various systems including computer data entry and files. Ensure that correct codes are used when entering information.
  • Maintain account accuracy by processing customer adjustments as needed.
  • Working within a team of other Customer Support Team members and other departments to find appropriate solutions.
  • Work with external Sales team to escalate queries and concerns.
  • Determine the quickest, most effective ways to answer a customer’s questions.
  • Conforms to company core values and acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Experience:

  • 2+ years in a customer service roll, call-center preferred
  • 1-3+ years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, accounting, or related field
  • High school or equivalent, Associates Degree or higher degree preferred
  • Preferred experience in phone customer service with logistics and scheduling
  • Supply Chain experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook…)
  • Can- do & positive attitude
  • A drive to build customer relationships
  • Accurate data-entry skills
  • Ability to learn new computer programs including ERP system
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to multi-task and switch gears as needed
  • Experience working with domestic trucking, international freight, or rail freight is a plus
  • Minimal local travel between sites as required.

Required
  • HS Diploma/GED or better
