The American Paper & Twine Team is looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our corporate office located in Memphis, TN.

Schedule:

The position is Monday-Friday only from 8AM until 5PM with no night or weekend commitments.

Position Overview:

The responsibilies of a Customer Service Representative include:

  • Processes customer orders or returns received by phone, fax or email.
  • Assists customers by answering product and service questions.
  • Pursue all customer inquiries and develop “new leads”; proactively generate sales with customers, in conjunction with sales team; suggests other products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Builds rapport with customers & resolves issues quickly to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Supports customers with access and functionality on APT website.
  • Maintains customer accounts by recording and updating account information.
  • Continually enhance product & service knowledge with continued education.
  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
  • Works with outside sales staff, warehouse staff and purchasing agents to meet customer needs, in a team-oriented, communicative manner.
  • Helps with the onboarding of new accounts.
  • Works with sales on quoting opportunities, product conversion opportunities, and price increase notifications.

Job Skills & Requirements:

The requirements of a Customer Service Representative include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Computer Skills – Proficient in all components of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn complex specialized distribution operating system.
  • 2+ years of customer service-oriented experience.
  • Ability to interact with customers via phone, email or in person in a professional manner.
  • Proficient with math and a background on pricing product.
  • Ability to learn a vast array of products; multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Service Oriented, Focus on Quality and Detail, Organizational Skills, Listening Skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills including decision making, time management, & immediate prioritization of tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to analyze information to achieve a resolution quickly and efficiently.
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid License is required.
  • Intermediate typing and numerical keypad skills.
