Responsible for daily customer service. Front line position provides customer service to the public in person, through emails, social media and over a multi-line phone system. Data input; handles financial transactions; general office duties; assist with setting up and cleaning up after programs; maintain records and processing of Continuing Education Units (CEU), Pesticide Licensing Exams, and other industry professional certifications; and assists the public with routine questions, policies, and procedures.

**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

**Additional compensation based on licensure.

Essential Functions

Responsible for opening, monitoring, and securing the Extension Services building during operational hours. Sets up, balances cash drawer; follows closing cash procedures, secures equipment and funds.

Responsible for greeting and welcoming customers, assessing their needs, and providing customer service, in person and by telephone.

Provides assistance to the public regarding Extension Services information, rules, policies, procedures, and activities.

Reports safety issues with Extension office and auditorium to facilities, cleaning, or repair needs.

Provides information to supervisor regarding auditorium usage, issues, incidents, programs and safety concerns relevant to operations.

Assists with scheduling room usage, including auditorium, including communicating policies and procedures to user groups.

Promotes and provides information to the public about scheduled programs and activities.

Assist agents with data entry, processing and dissemination of Continuing Educational Units following programs.

Assist Management Support Specialist with County and UF budgeting, travel planning and follow up, purchasing card reconciliations, and banking activities.

Maintains daily workflow, efficiently receives, and processes lobby educational materials in an organized manner on a daily basis.

Instructs volunteers on the use of equipment, such as computer, and copy machines, as needed.

Works routinely with and assists agents and other team members with various tasks.


May be assigned the task of driving to a designated bank for deposits.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience in an office environment or customer service.

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Requirements

Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent customer service skills in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office programs and adobe acrobat (PDF) editor.

Ability to operate computers and standard office equipment in a safe manner.

May include heavy lifting, reaching, and pushing.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License required.

All employees must attend Seminole County and University of Florida required trainings. Department specific trainings per position may be required.
