Under the direction of the Dean for Teaching, Learning, and Curricular Innovation (TLCI) and the leadership of the Curriculum Coordinator, the Curriculum Development Specialist supports College-wide efforts around curriculum development and the curriculum approval process. The specialist researches and advises faculty, departments, and staff on curriculum requirements and supports program and course proposal development and acts as a resource for faculty and management on curriculum development and approval.

Campus work site: Rock Creek Campus. Position can be fully on-site or on-site flex, depending on preference. If preference is for on-site flex, maximum remote workdays per week will generally vary from 3-5 depending on time of year and stakeholder engagement needs (as determined in coordination with supervisor). Periodic travel to campus locations other than primary work site will be required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education curriculum development and student learning outcomes
  • Experience with project management and meeting facilitation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, deans, and administrative staff
  • Experience working effectively in complex and interconnected academic processes and systems

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Student Development, Instructional Design, Business Administration, Communications, Social Science, Training & Development or related field.

One (1) year of work experience in a post-secondary education setting, applying and/or interpreting policies, procedures, and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years experience working in higher education curriculum development and/or instruction
  • Current knowledge of PCC academic programs
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and writing technical documentation

Starting Salary Expectations
$52,961 to $56,735 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is generally performed in an office and home environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
