Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of gas turbine engines. The Gatorworks Program Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) is responsible for design, development, and validation of gas turbine compressors.

The CSE Advanced Engine CIPT project team is looking for an energetic Gatorworks Program Validation Lead. The selected candidate will partner with the Gatorworks Program CIPT to support assembly of test engines, coordination of Test Job Requests (TJR) creation/modification, coordinate engine test coverage plans, and for engine Work Packages.

Key Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Accountable to CIPT for part level ownership, including communication, risk management and execution to program requirements.
  • Coordinate and Support CIPT engine assembly coverage needs.
  • Coordinate and Create Internal and External customer reviews.
  • Participate in Customer, System Integrated Product Team (SIPT), Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) and Engine Design and System Integration Team (EDSIT) meetings.
  • Provide technical support for validation engine build and engine test activities.
  • Works collaboratively in a dynamic environment and a highly motivated team player to step into a challenging role on a fast-paced development program.
  • Manage validation/verification requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry OR
  • Advanced Degree and 3+ years of prior relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/MS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Basic understanding the P&W Leadership Operating Model (LOM).
  • Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams, as needed, and knows when/where to get help.
  • Focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to closure.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. CORE).
  • Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. SAP, EVMS, Teamcenter).
  • CAM Certification.
  • Knowledgeable of AGILE project management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute work independently.
  • Prior development engine validation experience.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
