The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and management to assigned group home operations. It is the responsibility of this individual to ensure the site provides a respectful, inclusive, caring, and supportive environment. This position also functions as a point of contact for families, team members, and individuals served.

This position reports to the Crisis Services Senior Manager. The position is classified as exempt.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

  • Oversee assigned programs and ensure all licensing regulations and requirements are met.
  • Review and ensure individual team meeting paperwork is prepared and accurate. Ensure maintenance of individual’s records and perform routine audits.
  • Coordinate with the individuals and their teams to develop person centered approaches to identify what is important for each individual.
  • Manage GGH financial resources including general budgets, payroll budgets, program accounts, and petty cash accounts.
  • Review site safety checklists and ensure safety risks and maintenance requests are submitted.
  • Complete site supervisor checklists and offer feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure the implementation of all health-related directives from health care professionals, ensure Registered Nurse is kept informed about individual health service delivery and health related incidents.
  • Ensure incident reports, Emergency Use of Manual Restraint Forms, and Behavior Intervention Reporting Forms are completed according to policy.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and reduce overtime where possible.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to complete staff transfers.
  • Perform payroll maintenance including verifying staff hours and timesheets.
  • Assist site Supervisors in completing annual DSP performance reviews and complete biannual reviews for site supervisors.
  • Supervise and participate in the orientation and training of staff members.
  • Ensure that direct care staff and supervisors meet all employment requirements, including but not limited to, orientation, training, and qualifications.
  • Develop programs to advance employees and offer feedback for improvement when appropriate.
  • Issue corrective action and performance improvement plans.
  • In coordination with Residential Services Senior Manager, evaluate program outcomes and participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Ensure a safe, harassment and discrimination free work environment. Ensure that all employment standards are met according to federal and state law, and GGH policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report all issues related to individuals’ rights, safety, or maltreatment to the Residential Services Senior Manager.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of GGH policies and procedures related to services.
  • Develops and maintains each site’s Program Abuse Prevention Plan.
  • Develops and maintains each individual’s IAPP, SMA, CSSPA, CSSP and ensure implementation.
  • Must be available to work weekends, flexible hours
  • Deliver direct care services and supervision during staffing shortages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Possess cell phone or maintain adequate phone access in order to allow for employee contact.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience delivering services to persons with disabilities.
  • Proven history of developing staff and managers.
  • Qualification standards as found in 245D.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft office applications.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: *

While performing the duties of this job, the employee moves intermittently throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to see or hear, with or without prosthetic devices, sufficiently to perform the duties and communicate effectively with staff, individuals, family members, management, agency personnel, and the public. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for periods of time; frequently bend/stoop, crouch, and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently demonstrate restraints and lift persons or implement required therapeutic interventions, if required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Works in a variety of settings inside or outside the office and at group homes or other company sites.
  • Has regular contact with individuals and employees.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions, crisis management, and imposed deadlines.
  • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset individuals, employees, family members and the general public.
  • May be subject to physically aggressive individuals, requiring the use of physical intervention techniques.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions, imposed deadlines and frequent problem-solving activities.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, odors, dust, etc. throughout the day.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Carries and responds to cell phone during non-working hours.
