Responsibilities

Receive, review, and communicate daily production goals, work orders, and run schedules.

Guide, train, direct, and motivate ERW Tube Mill crew.

Enforce and exemplify safety policies in the tube mill.

Maintain cleanliness of the Tube Mill Area, surfaces clear of debris, and organized and free of any hazard.

Perform daily machine checks validating work order requirements including set up, tube length for cuts, and material thickness adjustments.

Maximize line run speeds.

Oversee unloading at exit conveyor to ensure smooth material flow.

Maintain remetallizer feeds for 100% uptime.

Time part changeovers in accordance with the run schedule.

Organize breaks and operator relief to maintain 100% uptime.

Oversee & ensure QA program execution.

Monitor mill coolants system for levels and proper function.

Monitor and maintain the flying saw for wear and proper functioning.

Manage self and crew personnel to maintain a clean and safe environment along the tube mill.

Identify, assist, and inspire initiatives for continuous improvement.

Inform and assist Maintenance department for Project maintenance (PM) & needed repairs.

Monitor consumables & spare parts inventory.

Qualifications for Crew Lead - Tube Mill

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and goal driven industrial production facility.
  • Basic math skills - ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
  • Ability to follow and administer written and oral instructions.
  • Demonstrated previous training of employees and hold accountable for learning the line positions.
  • Developed or lead a crew of members in a teamwork environment.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Capable to bend, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
  • Ability to work in all seasonal weather (cold, hot, humid,etc.) as the work facility is not insulated or air-conditioned.

Carry out machine set ups as directed by the Production Manager to meet specifications on the work orders.

Maximize run speeds to achieve daily/weekly goals.

Oversee unloading at exit conveyor to ensure smooth material flow.

Time part changeovers in accordance with the run schedule.

Organize breaks and operator relief to maintain 100% uptime.

Oversee & ensure QA program execution.

Manage self and crew personnel to maintain a clean and safe environment along the drill area.

Assist, identify and encourage continuous improvement initiatives.

Communicate & assist with Maintenance department for PM & Repairs.

Monitor consumables & spare parts inventory.

Train and guide employees in Drill Line area about on responsibilities, safety, and team performance.

Qualifications for Crew Leader

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with production and plant processes.
  • Basic math skills - ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
  • Ability to follow and administer written and oral instructions.
  • Demonstrated previous training of employees and holding accountable for learning the line positions.
  • Developed or lead a crew of members in a teamwork environment.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Capable to bend, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to work in shifts possibility to work on 7-3:30pm or a 2nd or 3rd shift (The shift schedule for 2nd or 3rd still being determined.)
  • Ability to work in all seasonal weather (cold, hot, humid,etc.) as the work facility is not insulated or air-conditioned.

Pay: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour
