Bellevue Building Supply, a Division of US LBM, Is Seeking a Credit Specialist for their Schenectady, NY Location.

Wage: $55,000 to $65,000 salary

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 4:30PM

How You Will Spend Your Day as a Credit Specialist:

  • Daily collection activity, making and documenting calls with customers and sales staff.
  • Working with sales and customers to resolve outstanding disputes, tracking and documenting progress of same
  • Account reconciliation
  • Maintaining contract billing files and documents to ensure proper and timely invoicing to customer and follow up on outstanding payment requests.
  • Participate in weekly aging reviews on outstanding accounts and issues.
  • Work directly with corporate credit management to determine collectability of AR balances or recommendations for reserves on at-risk balances.
  • Work to maintain and execute on mechanic’s lien rights on AR where possible.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects as needed.
  • Support and propagate the safety and health requirements of the company.
  • Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by company management.

Credit Specialist Requirements:

  • Minimum education required— Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum experience required—5 years experience in credit and collection process. 3+ years experience in building materials and construction industry preferred, with contract progress billing experience preferred.
  • Must have great communication and management skills, must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects, work well under extreme pressure & stress, must have employee developmental skills and the ability to work with many different levels of management.
  • Special knowledge preferred—Legal compliance and lien laws relating to collection of debts.
  • Travel within the Division may be required in order to ensure goals and objectives are met and locations are serviced.
  • Other— Proficient computer skills such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. is necessary.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, bending or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
