NATURE OF POSITION
Assists the Quality Coordinator to manage and oversee the system wide implementation of CQI Program within Fairfax Medical Facilities, Inc., (FMFI) Additional responsibilities may include ensuring compliance and ongoing improvement with Uniform Data System (UDS) metrics, Incentive Reimbursements and Key Performance Indicators. Assists the CQI Coordinator, developing best practices, standards of care, and current evidence based clinical guidelines to positively affect these metrics and program implementations. This position will support internal and external quality and regulatory activities by focusing on continuous improvement activities, such as CQI/peer review/PDSA/case management/risk management aiding in quality system implementation and supporting the on-going education of the clinical and non-clinical staff in accordance with current and future requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current working knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) is recommended.
  • Proficient computer skills and demonstrated competence to include database applications, and spreadsheet in a network environment.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and multi-task. Ability to prioritize tasks using a risk based approach.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills plus strong leadership abilities.
  • Possess strong clinical and teaching skills.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required as this position is supporting multiple clinical sites and must be able to respond to sites upon notice or need.
  • Able to lift 30-50 pounds.

RESPONSIBLE TO: CQI Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES
The CQI Assistant will assist the CQI Coordinator with the following:

  • Chairs the CQI Committee when CQI Coordinator is not available and serves as a member to all CQI sub committees, Action Teams and work groups. Manages and retains all documents related to CQI and CQI sub-committees, meetings.
  • Responsible for developing all workflow recommendations to improve UDS metrics/KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Informatics: IT programs, training and other directors for above-mentioned implementations.
  • Assist the Medical Director who oversees Peer Review activities to ensure appropriate implementation and adherence to best practices by Fairfax Medical Facilities Inc. providers.
  • Provide input to leadership for strategic planning objectives.
  • Support FMFI’s accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and our commitment to provide care to all FMFI patients that are Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable. Provide leadership and work with all staff to achieve the goals of healthcare reform to improve the experience of care, improve health outcomes, and decrease healthcare costs.
  • Assist with the support FMFI personnel with review and revisions of CQI/Risk Management policies and procedures. Facilitates access to health care for patients to our providers, staff and resources.
  • Assist in incorporating the Risk Management Plan into the Quality Program providing a comprehensive plan of safety and quality for patients, staff and visitors. Serves as liaison to external regulatory agencies for purposes of patient and physician reporting, event investigation and response, claims filing and tracking.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the health care and related industries through participation in ECRI for development of personal contacts, and in continuing education seminars. Be aware of industry trends in order to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Foster an atmosphere within the department that promotes quality service to FMFI patients through active listening, attention to accuracy and personal responsibility for business outcomes. Maintains accurate records to document and monitor the care coordination activities in the management information system.
  • As an effective team leader/member, confer, communicate and interact with all levels of management and staff to effectively coordinate special projects and develop working relationships to further the goals and objectives of FMFI. Participates in regular staffing meetings and reviews.
  • Assist with Claims management, processing of claims related activities and tracks claims through completion.
  • Monitors compliance of OSHA standards including but not limited to infection control. Personal protective equipment, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous material handling and fire safety.
  • Ensures HIPAA compliance with patient and employee information.
  • Collects, summarizes and analyzes patient/staff complaints/suggestions for improvement plans.
  • Assist Coordinator with annual review of the CQI program policies/procedures and performs an annual CQI program evaluation
  • Other duties as assigned.
