Job description

Nature of Work - Under general supervision, performs paraprofessional work in the area of Child Protective Services which involves extensive client contact. Work requires analysis, interpretation and application of policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations specific to child abuse and neglect cases. Work includes attending meetings, conducting safety checks, and making recommendations to the Child Protective Service Worker who is assigned the case. These positions have authority for ensuring payments are made for services and all documentation for reimbursement are complete and submitted timely. Work may require the use of a personal vehicle for extensive travel. Performs related work as required.

Examples of Work

• Courtroom assistant
• Attends all court hearings
• Obtain court dockets for area of assignment
• Assist workers with court hearing management
• Prepare and file documents timely
• Record notes from court and enter into our database
• Ensure referrals such as supervised visitation and drug screenings are established
• Work closely with the judges and/or prosecuting attorney
• Communicate with clients, including foster children
• Professional dress is required and full respect of the Court and must follow Courtroom etiquette

Preferred Qualifications

Training: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid clerical experience.
Special Requirement: A valid driver's license may be required.

• Monday to Friday
