The role you’ll contribute:

The Corporate Responsibility Officer - Population Health/Corp is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corporate responsibility function for Population Health initiatives and alternative payment models established by CMS across the organization. This includes the Population Health Services Organization, Accountable Care Organizations, Clinically Integrated Networks and bundled payments for care improvement models. The position is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corporate responsibility function for the Corporate Offices, Adventist University and other designated entities. Job responsibilities include oversight of health care related regulatory compliance and privacy concerns and investigations, implementation of the applicable corporate responsibility monitoring and auditing activities, as well as risk assessment identification and mitigation.

  • Develop, train and provide oversight for the Corporate Responsibility function.
  • Communicate and provide training and education on policies regarding regulatory compliance to ensure consistency.
  • Facilitate and deliver corporate responsibility and code of conduct education, including new employee orientation, general and targeted corporate responsibility training and facility leadership training.
  • Serve as chairperson for the Regional Corporate Responsibility Steering Committee for the assigned designated entities.
  • Investigate and provide responses to corporate responsibility hotline calls related to assigned designated entities
  • Coordinate corporate responsibility activities and investigations for the applicable initiatives and entities.
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries and research requests for information on a variety of corporate responsibility issues.
  • Answer specific questions from staff and leadership concerning corporate responsibility policies, patient privacy (HIPAA) issues, physician contracting, and other general regulatory corporate responsibility topics.
  • Facilitate monitoring and auditing activity for the various initiatives and business lines for which the position has been given responsibility.
  • Coordinate any external audits in conjunction with AHS Corporate Responsibility as necessary.
  • Work on identification of the unique compliance risks and develop plans for mitigation.
  • Coordinate the submission of monitoring and auditing documentation to confirm compliance with elements of the monitoring and auditing plan.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Corporate Responsibility department and corporate offices.
  • Present to regional designated entity(s) boards of directors on corporate responsibility education and activities.
  • Attend local leadership meetings as required.
  • Participate in regular update meetings with leadership for the initiatives.
  • Provide oversight of Corporate Responsibility Associates if assigned to designated entities.
  • Provide oversight of compliance and privacy related matters.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing or other healthcare related field.
  • Minimum of five years healthcare regulatory or financial experience at a management level.
  • Specific experience in hospital compliance and/or physician practice/medical group compliance, coding and/or operations and/or post-acute compliance, depending on the designated entities.
  • Ability to understand the healthcare regulatory environment, including Stark, Anti-Kickback, False Claims, HIPAA, and alternative payment model regulations.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Nursing or other healthcare related field or juris doctorate, preferred
  • Healthcare compliance certification required or obtained within first year, preferred
