ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Implement and maintain total quality policies, programs, and initiatives that improve the quality of the organizational processes, products, and services
  • Provide functional leadership and direction to plant quality teams.
  • Establish standard work and a process to optimize performance based on critical quality KPI’s at the corporate level and each manufacturing location.
  • Represent quality function as part of the Carlex executive team (operating committee).
  • Ensure products meet corporate standards as well as all applicable government regulations and customer requirements
  • Approve procedures for testing of final product and make decisions regarding the issuance of recall notices
  • Responsible to ensure the Company has an overall management process compliant with the requirements of IATF16949 and other customer mandated certifications
  • Approve format and content of trademarks put on outgoing products
  • Arbitrate any product quality issue disputes between the Quality Manager and Plant Managers
  • Interface at a senior corporate level with customers in matters related to product quality; function as Corporate Quality Management Representative
  • Approve plant QA procedures to support Quality Policy

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or applicable field, required

Years of Experience:

  • Automotive/Tier I Experience required
  • 15+ years business experience
  • Manufacturing and/or Engineering background a plus

Other Requirements:

  • Master Black Belt certified, internally or externally
  • Project Management certification preferred
  • Ability to learn and follow procedures while working safely in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying to better motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, while identifying the best people for the job
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Must be willing and able to work all available shifts
  • Valid driver’s license required for business travel
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities
  • Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
