POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the copywriter creates advertising copy to promote the sale of goods and services by presenting information in an appealing, informative, concise and easy-to-understand manner. The Copywriter will be an experienced creative with agency experience who will collaborate with e-commerce, merchandising, catalog marketing and creative to develop copy according to multiple brand voices and guidelines. This marketing team member will support with Promotional, Product, Editorial and PR writing responsibilities.

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Copywriter will be a participating member of the company’s marketing team, responsible for all copywriting tasks required for external-facing communications. Specifically, the Copywriter will:

  • Consistently write clear, customer-focused copy in unique brand voices for multiple brands following multiple style guides and guidelines.
  • Deliver creative and compelling concepts and copy across all aspects of our print and digital communications, including website copy, blogs, editorial articles and social media.
  • Help create and maintain a consistent brand tone and voice while adhering to brand guidelines for all communications.
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently interpret creative briefs and comprehend project requirements.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and eager willingness to work directly with Creative Director, Designers, PR Representatives, Merchandising and other professionals on both large and small-scale projects (e.g. email campaigns, landing pages, ads).
  • Ability to research technical product features and translate into benefit-rich, reader-friendly copy.
  • Ability to produce product copy according to strict schedule deadlines for Catalog and other tactics
  • Conduct high-quality research and interviews.
  • Proven ability to quickly and accurately edit and proofread copy, as needed.
  • Familiar with the use of SEO, content marketing principles and strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Considering these responsibilities, the successful candidate will be a creative and passionate creative who meets the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience working within an internal creative agency or company environment.
  • Knowledge of Professional Audio, Pro Lighting, Video products required.
  • Experience in marketing specialty hard goods in a B2B environment preferred.
  • Experience working within fast-paced agency environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively operate in an evolving business, drive change and sustain results in a growth environment.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong working knowledge of online content strategy and creation.
  • Superb communication skills, along with exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • A passion for writing and the ability to produce creative and compelling copy within tight deadlines.
  • Experience creating copy for a range of digital and print platforms, including catalog, social media, blog posts, email campaigns, website copy, press releases, direct-response, etc.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in digital marketing, particularly SEO and content marketing.
  • BS or BA in Marketing, English, Journalism or related field is preferred.
