Job description
- Develops, implements, coordinates, and conducts programs and initiatives designed to educate and support faculty, staff, and students regarding their rights and obligations under the Title IX Act of the Education Amendment of 1972, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 Act of 1975, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, including reporting options/responsibilities, support services, District policy, and applicable disciplinary code and grievance procedures.
- Oversees, coordinates, and ensures investigations of reports and complaints of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential, and impartial
- Ensures ongoing compliance with Title IX by collecting and analyzing data and maintaining records of investigations
- Identify and address any patterns or systemic problems within the district
- Provide guidance to site and department administrators on issues of discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct
- Performs other duties as assigned
- The Secondary Summer School Principal position begins in October with an introduction to the program and planning for registration. The Principal will assist with registration training in December and January, and will ensure that the process runs smoothly in the Spring. The Principal begins the hiring process in January for summer staff and assists with interviews, placements, and communication. Throughout the spring the Principal works with the summer school administration team for planning various aspects of the summer school session.
- Hires administrative team, teachers, and support staff for summer school starting in January
- Delegates responsibility for a variety of administrative functions to Assistant Principal and other personnel for the purpose of managing the workload more efficiently
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of on site summer school
- Serves as contact resource person for questions regarding summer school program
- Works with technology services staff to develop summer school master schedule
- Evaluates assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized
- Facilitates communication between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts
- Manages school administrative functions (e.g., budget, staffing, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines
- Participates in course description book process
- Attends meetings and trainings
- Plans orientation and staff meetings
- Works with special education staff
- Trains secondary counselors regarding registration procedures
- Works with GPS Marketing & Communications Dept. to promote summer school and update website
- Ensure the success of the GPS Secondary Summer School Program
- Ability to effectively direct, plan, implement, and evaluate programs.

- Analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively summarize and present information
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead people and provide direction.
- Experience with school district organization, operations, policies, and procedures; the ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the public.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Excellent writing skills.

Purpose Statement
The Title IX and Compliance Coordinator ensures that the district complies with all policies and regulations related to discrimination and harassment (Title IX Sexual Harassment, race, age, disability, and religion). The Title IX and Compliance Coordinator develops and implements educational programs regarding discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff, and students understand their rights, and where applicable, responsibilities under the law. The Title IX and Compliance Coordinator oversees and coordinates investigations, responses, resolutions to complaints, and the supervision of investigators.
