All this in immersive camps and programs filled with epic story and adventure.

Job Summary

Your job? As a Coordinator, you act as a mentor for teams of Trackers Guides and youth during incredible outdoor adventures, showing kids why we care for and preserve the places we explore. You may embark on a wilderness survival trek, fish, kayak, rock climb, or co-create a story adventure with secret agents, wizards, or elves. You will collaborate with families and Trackers leadership to deliver the highest quality experience for campers.

Coordinators (all) - Responsibilities:

• Manage, administer, and run the daily operations of a Trackers Fellowship or Bus Team
• Communicate with guardians about needs, accomplishments, and expectations of campers
• Anticipate and exceed the needs and expectations of Trackers Earth campers and families
• Provide fun, engaging, and safe experiences for campers and co-workers
• Follow all risk management and Trackers policies
• Positively reinforce and redirect challenging behavior in alignment with policy
• Model, teach, and maintain proper gear and tool usage, care, and organizational tidiness
• Observe and document staff performance evaluations, executing development strategies
• Communicate with families and colleagues in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate and document safety and behavior incidents
• Keep and safeguard confidential information
• Other duties as assigned

Coordinator - Responsibilities:

• Lead a group of campers, teaching Trackers curriculum and theme-specific content
• Supervise and manage Lead Guides and Interns in your Group
• Provide immediate feedback to Lead Guides, Interns, and peers while in the field
• Optional Pay Add-on - Class C CDL Drive 15 passenger with CDL Class C required—Trackers can help you get this certification

Coordinator+ (with Class B CDL) - Responsibilities:

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate up to five Coordinators with their Lead Guides and Interns
• Drive school bus with CDL Class B required—Trackers can help you get this certification
• Co-plan and organize curriculum with Team

Coordinator (all) - Qualifications

• Completed Vaccinations for COVID-19 (verification required)

• 1+ years (or 3 seasons) experience in outdoor education or 2+ years in general education
• Experience with outdoor programs similar to Trackers and/or skills relevant to Trackers programs
• Can exercise independent judgment that reflects Trackers policies and protocols, while managing campers and staff in remote locations with limited support
• Can coordinate, adapt and plan for complex logistics, and be flexible in working with challenges

• Possess grit, becoming more calm, creative, and proactive when challenged
• Model professionalism while supporting campers, families, colleagues, and supervisors
• Can stand, bend, squat, climb, lift (up to 50 lbs), hike on and off trail (up to 5 miles) per day
• Trackers will complete pre-employment criminal background & references checks which include CBI, FBI and TRAILS and fingerprinting
• Coordinators need the following certifications (or able to complete before starting):
  • CPR/First Aid/Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine Auto-Injector
  • Food Handlers
  • Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect (OR & WA)
  • Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training - General (CA)
  • State fishing license if guiding a program that includes fishing
  • CPR/First Aid/Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine Auto-Injector through approved vendors
  • Food Handlers
  • State fishing license if guiding a program that includes fishing; an outfitters license is also helpful
  • Lifeguard certified for those guiding a program that is in or on the water; SUS, kayaking or other water sports certifications are helpful
  • NASP (or equivalent) Archery Certification
  • Climbing programs will need AMGA, PCIA or PCGI
  • Mandated Reporter Training (Offered on PDIS)
  • FEMA/Disaster Preparedness (FEMA - Emergency Management Institute (EMI) | National Preparedness Directorate National Training and Education Division)
  • Immunization Training (Offered on PDIS)
  • Standard Precautions (Trackers has a list of approved vendors)
  • Medication Administration Training Part One and Two (Part One is available on PDIS, Trackers can provide Part Two)
  • Injury Prevention (Offered on PDIS)
  • Playground Safety (Offered on PDIS)
  • 15 hours of site specific and camp specific training as required by the state of Colorado
  • Annual Health History Form with Immunizations
  • Boating, Canoeing, Sailing, and Kayaking on Flatwater, and Rock Climbing and Ropes requirements, based on Colorado laws, will be reviewed if you apply for a role that requires certain qualifications
• Optional Pay Add-on - Class C CDL Trackers can assist you in getting this certification. Class C Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required for driving a Van of students and team members.

Coordinator+ (with Class B CDL) - Qualifications

• 1+ season experience leading and managing adult teams, preferably in outdoor or educational settings.
  • Implementing systems and processes with a team of 2+ adult colleagues, with a commitment to organizational governance (incl. safety, risk management, and quality)
  • Implementing organizational frameworks, trainings, objectives, and values
  • Identifying, synthesizing, and communicating feedback to colleagues, leading to measurable, positive outcomes
  • Communicating effectively with customers, managing solution-oriented best practices
  • Working with large groups of youth while dividing them into smaller, self-directed teams
• Trackers can assist you in getting this certification. Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) required for driving a Bus of students and team members.

2022 Salary

Day Camp

• Coordinator: $745 per week
• Coordinator with Class C CDL: $785 per week
• Coordinator+ with Class B CDL: $940 per week

For Coordinators who are looking to expand their resume and have room to grow, we are also looking for someone who can be a second in command to our director. They will need the above plus be verified to have their Director Qualification with the Colorado Office of Early Childhood Education (There are many different ways to qualify, and we can help you get there, but you must have some combination of schooling and on the job training to qualify for this position.)
