Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students and working collaboratively with the
Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS), Student Life, and campus partners, the Coordinator for
Student Rights and Responsibilities performs critical administrative functions that support the
Office of the Dean of Students and the Student Support Network (the University behavioral
intervention team). This position is responsible for investigating and adjudicating academic and
behavioral misconduct, as well as provision of developmental and educational interventions
that promote restoration to positive University standing when possible.

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in student development, higher education administration, social work, or related field.
Two years experience in related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exceptional communication skills; ability to communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work with a high level of productivity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.
Ability to adapt to and work collaboratively in a structured environment, which requires regular interaction with a number of levels within the organization.
Working knowledge or ability to learn University infrastructure, policies and procedures.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, online systems, social media platforms, and internet, as well as online calendaring and email.
Exceptional analytical skills with ability to track data/statistics, engage in program assessment, and prepare reports.
Ability to engage in independent planning, organization with a high degree of productivity within broadly defined parameters.
Exceptional caseload management with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to perform work of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
Ability to train others on procedures and programs, as well as how to engage in the interactive process.

Special Conditions
Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

  • Position classification defined as "exempt" are not subject overtime
  • Position classifications defined as "non exempt" are subject to overtime
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the Oregon Revised Statues and is required to comply with the requirements set forth by the Oregon department of Human Services.
