The Manager in Training role will enable you to learn hands on skills and experience in overseeing a retail location’s activities to achieve a profitable store location. This role provides in-store operational training on operations, financial processes, employee relations and merchandising, which builds the foundations to advance into a General Manager role.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate staff.
  • Experience working to targets, KPI’s and measurements
  • Understanding of P&L and financials.
  • Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
  • Flexible and open schedule

Expected outcomes:
  • Staff management: recruitment, training and scheduling of staff.
  • Daily sales reports and cash receipts; ensures monies are deposited regularly, and reports are submitted as prescribed by company policies.
  • Ensure store standards are consistently improved in terms of housekeeping, merchandising, presentation and service.
  • Addressing customer needs and resolves issues.
  • Ensures inventory data is correct by performing spot inventory counts and checks.
  • Understanding and achieving Gross Profit Margin, Net Margin and Sales Targets.

Education and Experience:

  • High School/GED required.
  • Customer service experience required
  • Retail management experience highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds at times.
