About the role:

The Controller will support the Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer in the development, management, and oversight of the Company's accounting functions, including financial reporting, policies and procedures, tax reporting and management, and operational analysis. In addition, this role will provide leadership and direction to the accounting staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the accounting operations of the Company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

  • Issues timely and complete financial statements.

  • Manages journal entries, internal billings, and asset accounting.

  • Performs full cycle accounting function and reconcile accounts for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and implement controls to comply with federal, state, and local legal standards.

  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow, and other reports.

  • Organizes and prepares all necessary information for quarterly and year-end taxes.

  • Conducts internal reviews and coordinate the work of outside auditors and tax specialists.

  • Maintains lease and contract documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years of full cycle accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior-level accounting role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to develop and mentor a team.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a workload with tight deadlines by working extended hours, if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA with public accounting experience.

  • Experience in the Architectural Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) industry.

  • Experience using Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint.
