BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for achieving Omya Group deadlines and quality requirements with respect to all financial reporting within the Area in compliance with Omya Group Accounting and Reporting Manual (ARM) and adoption of IFRS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support country Heads of Finance with annual planning, month-end, quarterly and annual financial reporting as well as ongoing reporting throughout the year for special purpose topics (restoration provision, related parties, etc.).
• Support area management team with financial results review and provide ad hoc support for all merger and acquisition activity to ensure quality standard and consistency is maintained.
• Review and support in the preparation and submission of periodic financial statements (IFRS and local) and all other internal financial reporting, e.g. GIF, CAR, FPR, etc.
• Act as support function to ensure timely completion of internal and external audits.
• Ensure application of and compliance with Omya Group standards and policies is maintained in the area.
• Ensure compliance with internal control system (ICS) requirements is achieved throughout the area.
• Oversee Master Data Management in the area and ensure compliance with global standards.
• Business partnering with country Finance organizations and area/regional/group Finance.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum 5 years of experience in accounting / reporting role.

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, regulatory reporting, good understanding of IFRS concepts and experience in internal control processes.

Excellent communication and coordination skills and good practical knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and good practical knowledge of ERP and consolidation and reporting systems.

Excellent command of both oral and written English, Spanish are a must. Portuguese fluency is desired.

Must be willing to travel to Latin America up to 30% of the time.
