Proceeds from sales allow us to provide free memorial plaques to the families of fallen heroes (military, first responders, and law enforcement) and give back to our Military community via donations to raise awareness for Veteran Suicide.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a dedicated, creative, and meticulous Writer to create engaging and respectful content for our Fallen Hero emails, newsletter, blogs, Wall of Heroes, and social media.

This is not your typical writing position, as a Writer with TVP, you will create respectful Legacy stories honoring the lives and service of Military, First Responders, and Law Enforcement Fallen Heroes. The stories are shared in emails, blogs, social media, and physical newsletters for families, supporters, and our members.

As a Writer, your responsibilities are to research backgrounds, verify information, create content, and edit your own or other writer’s work.

To ensure success as a Writer, you must be able to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure. A great Writer should have exceptional writing and research skills, perform accurate research, and write compelling respectful copy.

What We Expect From You:

  • Craft content that is respectful, original, well-researched, and brings honor to the fallen Heroes
  • Conduct research to formulate ideas or support writing
  • Use all your findings to prepare clean, concise, and factual stories
  • Tailor your writing style to meet the needs of your target audience
  • Edit and polish existing content to improve readability
  • Prepare and print family and wall of hero letters
  • Proofread content for errors and inconsistencies before submission
  • Submit completed assignments in the requisite document format (Email, Newsletter, Blogs, Wall of Heroes)
  • Store copies of your completed assignments
  • Ensure you meet all regular and recurring deadlines
  • Provide facility tours to visiting families and supporters
  • Assist in other aspects of the creative or research processes to create cohesive, accurate content
  • Assist marketing team with copywriting
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed:

At a minimum:

  • MUST submit a portfolio of articles written
  • Preferred - Bachelor's degree in English, Communication Studies, Journalism, or related field
  • Preferred - Veteran, Military, First Responder, or Law Enforcement background
  • In-depth knowledge of Military/LEO/First Responder Ranks and abbreviations
  • Proven content writing or copywriting experience
  • Advanced editing skills
  • Proven writing and research experience, preferably in a similar role
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
  • Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office and Google Office applications
  • Preferred - Experience in Klaviyo Email and SMS automation platform
  • Creativity, Resourcefulness, Flexibility, and Motivation
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Capacity to work on multiple writing projects simultaneously
  • An enthusiastic, positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence within a fast-paced environment
  • Resiliency; respond well to constructive feedback
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information

Requires the ability to:

  • Understand the needs associated with a project and the target audience
  • Meet deadlines and accurately fact-check information
  • Work with minimal supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 Hourly Rate based on experience
