Profile
A Wilhelm Superintendent supervises the field operation/construction of a project, including its organization, planning, scheduling, material usage, workforce utilization, and subcontractors' work, in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds Wilhelm and the customer's expectations. By maintaining a safe construction site, staying within the established budget and schedule, following established company policies, and treating subordinates fairly and uniformly, a Superintendent will create a stable, safe, efficient, and pleasant work environment helping to ensure the company's success and establishment of a loyal customer.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and coordinate project start-up in conjunction with Project and Operation Managers
  • Order or requisition materials, supplies, tools, and schedules equipment rentals
  • Inspect and confirm the quality, price, and correct quantities of all deliveries
  • Conduct pre-job meetings with major sub-contractors
  • Operate as field liaison to owner throughout construction process
  • Maintain field P.O. and Rental Log
  • Monitor jobsite safety and take appropriate action to address and correct deficiencies
  • Collect and process daily reports
  • Routinely inspects work progress, equipment, and construction site to maintain compliance with contract specifications and company quality and safety standards
  • Takes immediate and appropriate action to correct any potential safety hazards
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of field personnel and sub-contractors
  • Determines field personnel for each project and assigns work based on the requirements of the project
  • Conduct weekly "Tool Box Talks" and maintains all associated reports
  • Investigate and report any accidents to Insurance Coordinator, Corporate Safety Director, and Project Manager
  • Create and accurately maintain cost/labor reports
  • Maintain and ensure all equipment, vehicles, and machinery is operating properly and safely, arrange for repairs and/or replacements as necessary
  • Train field personnel in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and/or company policies
  • Report labor time and sign off on all time sheets
  • Represent Company at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work
  • Other duties as assigned by Company Management

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years in field construction
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred
