We are seeking an experienced tech-savvy Construction Purchasing Agent with a keen eye for detail to buy various goods for Arden Building Companies' plumbing, heating, electrical and fire protection departments. This individual will become an integral part of our Construction division at Arden Engineering Constructors! He/she must work collaboratively with internal administration/office personnel, external customers, and union trade craftspeople in managing and coordinating all mechanical HVAC and/or plumbing construction activities to meet both project and company objectives. The purchaser’s duties will include conducting market research, building a network of reliable vendors and service providers, and negotiating the best contracts. This position is located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Essential Duties:

• Conducting research comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
• Meeting with vendors and clients to negotiate the best contracts.
• Work with Project Managers on buying commodities and equipment for jobs
• Work with Project Managers to ensure that purchase orders and subcontracts are completed correctly.
• Writing reports on purchases made and performing cost analyses.
• Attending and contributing to meetings with staff and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

To be successful as a purchaser, you should be able to identify emerging consumer trends and have a good ability to read people, juggle multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in fast-paced environments

• 3-5 Years of purchasing experience
• Knowledge of Purchasing in the areas of Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical Fire Protection.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
