Summary

The Construction Manager (CM) is to safeguard all company and industry Safety and Quality procedures and best practices. It is vital that the CM demonstrate professionalism, efficiency, and equality as it relates to communicating and leading crews and assignments. CMs are designated Field managers who spend the majority of their time in the field on sites supervising jobs to ensure crews are constructing safely, per plan, and identifying all out of scope items as well as staying within budget. The CM Reports to the Project Manager (PM).

Responsibilities

  • On-site Project Safety Manager and Client CM liaison in all matters regarding safety on active construction sites. Attend client safety/quality meetings and delivering information to teams and staff. Inform the Project Manager and Market Director immediately following any incident or new policy produced by the customer regarding Safety.
  • Communicate closely with PM to determine the schedule, arrange site access, creation of Tickets, coordinate cutovers, acquiring Building Permits, and MOP review to ensure all logistics are handled per schedule.
  • Review all construction drawings, bid notes, project scope documentation, and schedules to ensure clarity and that scope of work, street closures, etc. are accurately depicted in preparation for upcoming projects. Perform transfer of knowledge to teams for understanding.
  • Verify PM has NTP and PO prior to scheduling jobs. Verification of hours and scope to be performed prior to construction start.
  • Perform Pre-Cons, quality walks, material take-offs, equipment scheduling, ensuring all is in order prior to construction start.
  • Daily schedule creation and submittal to all crews and management team.
  • Verify Daily Reports are being submitted to applicable office personnel (actual labor hours used are within budget), time is entered by all personnel, review crew time entries, and field deliverables are submitted and in compliance.
  • Performs regular surprise safety and quality site checks to minimize go-backs and safety violations.
  • While on site for the last day of the project, verify COP deliverables are complete and build quality is second to none.
  • Prior to site completion, verify all field documentation has been submitted, PO has been redlined for true up, and quality
  • Visit sites daily providing feedback regarding:

o Job site binders - JSAs, emergency action plans, and material lists

o Ensure all Schedule of Values (SOV) or POs are addressed and updated throughout the project in preparation for hand-off to PM for true-up submittal

o Pick up and deliver needed Home Depot material/items from the warehouse when in route to assist crew and warehouse

o Escalation point for crews in the field requiring troubleshooting advice, and clarity of scope.

o Be available to assist crews with site integration support and testing when necessary

  • Ensure all crews are submitting material lists ahead of time when possible avoiding unnecessary delays in the project and accrued costs.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, firing, writing-up, performing the annual review, etc of field personnel when needed.
  • Performs evaluations of crewman ready for more responsibility. Regular evaluation of crews determining who needs COP, testing, and other training.

Accountability Understands that all assigned jobs are the responsibility of the SI to ensure the job is completed ahead of schedule and within budget. Any changes are to be communicated with PM.

  • Accountable to PM/MD in the scheduling of resources strengths, location, time management, and estimated project hours are being adhered to.
  • Accountable to crew foreman in assisting and following up on technical questions not outlined in drawings/bid notes that help in the success of the project goals.
  • Accountable to PM in reviewing Daily Reports and timecards each morning to ensure accuracy, completeness, and following of company expectations.
  • Accountable to PM/MD ensuring teams are meeting or beating estimated direct labor hours per projects.
  • Accountable to PM/MD for developing and training all field personnel in Safety, PPE, Quality, and other company needs and by managing a monthly meeting with all teams over safety, project deliverables, and company policies.
  • Accountable to PM/MD for reporting all projects that risk losing and/or not meeting estimated direct labor hours per projects daily/weekly
  • Accountable to PM/MD in ensuring Key Tower’s Safety Plan, Fall Protection Plan, EME/RF policies are adhered to by all employees.
  • Competitive hourly wage based on tech level and competency.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
