BNO Construction is a General Contractor in League City, Texas. Our ideal Estimating candidate is a competent individual who can work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. You must be a disciplined, quick learner and be able to establish and maintain relationships with clients and team members.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating the structural components of simple to complex construction projects with scopes including metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, paint, demo, etc.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing accurate estimates by calculating various quantities for take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment costs required to complete scope of work
• Defining and quantifying the scope of work and preparing comprehensive, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects
• Drafting proposal, change orders, and contract correspondence with construction professionals

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this exciting position based in our League City office:

• Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business may be given preference
• 3-5+ years of construction estimating experience, ideally in the Greater Houston area
• Demonstrated ability to work with a team to estimate complex structural projects up to $5 Million
• Ability to evaluate, quantify and capture specification requirements within the estimate
• Prior experience working with terms & conditions in construction contracts
• A strong understanding of the Greater Houston construction market, including current market prices, clients, and construction professionals (GCs, City Officials, Engineers & Architects)
• Previous experience maintaining client relationships while performing light business development

Must also be able to demonstrate:

• The ability to read blueprints
• The ability to read & write construction contract language
• Construction math
• Computer skills including, Adobe, Microsoft Office (Excel/ Word), and/or other onscreen construction estimating software

Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are a must. Estimators should be skilled using common office software and expect daily written and verbal correspondence with Builders, Field Supervision, Engineers, client’s estimators, and purchasers. Good organizational and multitasking skills are needed to thrive in this deadline-driven environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
