SUMMARY:

Senator César J. Blanco seeks a bilingual, highly motivated, and organized individual with strong interpersonal skills to serve as the Constituent Caseworker in the District Office, located in El Paso, Texas. The Constituent Caseworker will serve as a liaison to state, federal, and local agencies for the Senator and constituents to answer casework correspondence, create and execute casework goals, and assist with other District Office functions important to serving the people of Senate District 29, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & EXPECTATIONS:

· Act as the representative for the Senator, which includes answering casework correspondence, meeting with constituents, and communicating with constituents both verbally and in writing in English and Spanish;

· Follow casework procedures and meet casework expectations as set by the District Director;

· Coordinate and handle a diverse portfolio of state agency cases through intake, agency correspondence, constituent correspondence, and resolution of the issue;

· Logs in all incoming and outgoing mail and incoming telephone calls relating to casework;

· Organize and monitor casework data to assist the District Director with reporting on casework trends and issues;

· Continually screens active cases and acts as liaison with constituents to ensure that their cases are handled responsively;

· Maintain up-to-date files on all cases and office resources;

· Work with legislative and district teams to increase knowledge on trending issue areas and to communicate notable in-district developments;

· Travel within the District, sometimes on short notice and outside of regular business hours, to attend events on behalf of the office;

· Work a flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, and weekends;

· Excellent oral and written communication skills;

· Assists with the coordination of district outreach and service events; and

· Other duties as assigned.

SALARY:

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
