Kaleidoscope Learning is looking for an Associate Producer to manage its annual hybrid conference, The Learning Ideas Conference. The conference focuses on new ideas in learning and technology for higher education and workplace learning, and attracts an audience that includes people from both the academic and business worlds.

This role is a full-time position, with full-time hours during the East Coast workday; this is a remote position except for occasional meetings in NYC and being on-site during the conference dates and potentially for a few other days before the event. The 2023 conference dates will be Wednesday-Friday, June 14-16.

The person in this role will manage the conference details on a day-to-day basis, including logistics, working with conference speakers, managing a paper review process, and marketing the event. The associate producer manages a small team who produces a lot of the marketing materials and social media posts, and helps with operations and project tracking. The associate producer reports to the conference director and also to the conference chair.

Kaleidoscope Learning is a boutique e-learning consultancy and software firm based in New York. Since 1998, Kaleidoscope has produced award-winning online learning for Fortune 500 companies, multinational companies, and non-profits. The conference is now in its 16th year.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the conference, including planning the details of the event, maintaining and updating timelines and status reports, managing reviews of proposals and papers, and interacting with potential speakers, attendees, and sponsors.
  • Working with the internal team to determine and execute strategies to attract new attendees
  • Maintaining and managing the internal conference database, including the use of various technologies.
  • Managing outside subcontractors in areas such as graphic design.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required
  • Event management experience in some role is strongly preferred.
  • The ability to work in an agile, adaptable, dynamic, fast-paced environment; able to deal with complexity and ambiguity.
  • A proactive working style, with a desire to develop an understanding of The Learning Ideas Conference's background ; the ideal person for this role is a natural problem-solver who can approach problems in different ways and will explore multiple potential solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, good communication and teamwork skills, and experience in working with multiple stakeholder groups; be self-motivated with the ability to take on small projects and drive them to completion on time.
  • Familiarity with the online learning world in higher education and/or workplace/corporate learning is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
