Compliance Manager

Clipper Equity owns and manages commercial and residential assets in New York City/New Jersey (diverse neighborhoods of Tribeca, Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Downtown Brooklyn, East Flatbush, Brooklyn Heights, Fort Lee). Headquarters, located in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

Essential Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• The Compliance Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of compliance for the company’s growing real estate portfolio
• Point of contact for all violations
• Receive, review, and submit all necessary documents for correction in a timely manner for all violations from all agencies (i.e. DOB, HPD, DEP, DSNY, FDNY, DOHMH)
• Stay up to date and research changes in compliance and regulation like newly implemented Local Laws
• Responsible for the record management and filing of documentation of all DOB and ECB/Oath related matters, including but not limited to violation correction; MCI filing, local law compliance and other regulatory requirements
• Determine scope of work for certain projects to correct violations and engage necessary vendors
• Buildings Compliance with the “FISP” (facades) annual inspection requirements
• Obtain and submit any penalties or fines imposed for any violations
• Ensure alert distribution and building lists are accurate and update as needed, including notifying field staff and/or vendors of new violations to coordinate necessary corrections
• Coordinating and overseeing agency related inspections at multiple locations
• Coordinates cooling tower compliance measures and liaise with the cooling tower vendor as needed
• Coordinate elevator and boiler inspections
• Submit the annual HPD building registrations directly to HPD and DHCR registrations
• Handles annual safety mailings
• Review Jack Jaffa/SiteCompli related information to confirm we are in receipt and aware of all violations listed and penalties imposed
• Ensure all violations, and FDNY permit payments are processed and accurately posted in NYC databases
• Maintain compliance logs
• May be required to commute to multiple locations throughout NYC
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years required working with NYC building compliance and experience with DOB, HPD, DEP, DSNY, FDNY, DOHMH *a must*
• Must have industry knowledge with attention to detail
• Must have a keen sense of urgency
• Requires exceptional written/verbal communication and organizational skills
• Experience with NYC Agency websites like HPD, DOB BIS, and DOB Now
• Knowledge with the myriad laws & regulations of various governmental agencies
• Extensive knowledge and experience with all building operations, inspection, real estate investment and budgets
• Ability to handle multiple tasks including Violations, Certificate of corrections, hearings, submissions, and court cases in a simultaneous manner
• Experience in interfacing with owners, contractors, legal departments and government agencies effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Yardi experience, Site Compli, and Jack Jaffa experience a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while demonstrating the initiative to produce results and resolve problems

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 per year
