Corebridge Financial Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs department is comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. About the role
AIG Life & Retirement Compliance is actively seeking a Compliance Director for Records & Risk Management to assist in developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with the global records and information management program. This role will also be responsible for the execution of Compliance risk management activities including the annual Compliance Risk Assessment.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of L&R’s records and information management compliance program including records retention, disposition, and electronic information management.
  • Assist in the maintenance of and updates to the L&R records and information management-related policies, procedures, and global records retention schedules. Develop and deliver relevant training.
  • Provide advice and operational guidance to L&R’s businesses and corporate functions on requirements related to records retention, information disposal, and electronic information lifecycle management.
  • Assist with the review and implementation of new technologies as they relate to records and information management and related requirements, such as privacy and data security considerations.
  • Participate in complex, cross-functional projects with stakeholders from Legal, Regulatory, Risk, IT and other functions related to information lifecycle management, data migration and disposition.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of record-keeping laws, regulations, industry standards and information governance best practices applicable to L&R’s operations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA) process including, but not limited to, consultative support, training, preparation for each phase, quality review of data, and challenge meeting preparation.
  • Assist in analysis and aggregation of CRA and risk related data; including developing board and senior management reporting related to CRA results.
What you need to know
The ideal person for this role should have relevant experience in records and information management compliance. Candidates will be expected to possess the following professional and personal attributes:
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience required, such as in a corporate or consultant environment involving global legal and regulatory compliance frameworks. Insurance and/or financial services industry knowledge preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively within a highly-matrixed organization with employees at all levels.
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive, collaborative and proactive manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with an inquisitive mind to explore data and identify critical issues and trends.
  • Competency with Microsoft tools, including Word, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint, and other data repository and presentation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
