As the Compliance and Process Improvement Lead, you will coordinate all National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) compliance readiness for the organization. You will also work with Quality Management and Process Improvement professionals to identify possible cross function improvement projects based recent investigations, data trends and non-compliance findings. Your focus will be on potential liability issues to reduce risk, promote safety, and minimize the adverse effects of losses to the organization. As a part of the Quality Management Team, you will have the opportunity to drive organizational change through our continuous quality improvement activities leveraging Lean and Six Sigma and other methodologies.

We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering or a related field
  • Two years professional experiece compiling, analyzing, compiling, and presenting large data sets to make recommendations on operational enhancements to improve the performance of teams, which includes leading and being involved with process improvement or project management initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or other improvement methods
  • Must complete an MCSO-HR fingerprint/background check

  • Lean Six Sigma Green belt or above
  • Two or more years facilitating Kaizen or Rapid Improvement events for cross functional groups
  • Experience with NCCHC Compliance
  • Certification in healthcare Quality Management processes

Job Contributions
  • Serves as an expert resource on accreditation standards, regulatory issues, and applicable laws to CHS staff and providers. Assesses compliance with accreditation standards and regulations related to clinical care in collaboration with CHS leadership and team
  • Identifies areas of vulnerability with the accreditation standards and assists in the development of strategies to enhance compliance. Facilitates implementation of compliance strategies throughout CHS
  • Identifies and leads patient safety, quality, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Collaborates with clinical staff to establish appropriate work groups ensuring that they maintain effective monitoring, reporting, and improvement activities related to clinical guidelines, health care quality, and patient safety initiatives, and accreditation and regulatory requirements
  • Investigates and summarizes events for quality of care issues, including but not limited to Mortality and Morbidity reviews. Participates in formal Mortality and Morbidity and Root Cause Analysis as assigned. Coordinates analysis and risk reduction strategies to completion for quality issues and events
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of the data collection processes to include tracking, trending, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of quality management data and information. Aggregates and analyzes complex report data and report findings on quality improvement studies, quality of care concerns, occurrences, grievances, and other quality management issues
  • Understands and utilizes Process Improvement philosophy, tools, and techniques. Instructs CHS employees on Process Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools and techniques in formal and informal settings throughout the organization
  • Consults with and advises management at all levels on complex operational, organizational, and resource problems
  • Identifies and reports the impact of improvement results and trends for cost reduction and improvement within an existing service
  • Researches, manages, analyzes, and presents operational research (i.e., benchmarking assessments, data analysis, policy analysis, time studies, etc.) to assist CHS in defining baseline performance and identifying root causes of problems
  • Assists in the development and revision of CHS clinical policies and procedures
  • May be required to visit clinics for meetings or special projects
Working Conditions
  • Work occurs in an office environment requiring extended periods of sitting, reading, and typing
  • May require working inside a jail environment, working in close proximity to inmates and other staff
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines, as required, with frequent interruptions
