The Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH), within the broader Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address behavioral health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.
CBH is seeking a Community Health Worker to provide support for several service grants dedicated to the San Felipe Pueblo. Duties include, but are not limited to: possessing a deep understanding of the San Felipe Pueblo and knowledge of behavioral health resources available to community members; connecting individuals with services to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and resiliency; suicide prevention experience; data collection and reporting experience that includes interviewing clients and gathering confidential data; identifying and addressing individual and family strengths and barriers; supporting individuals and families in crisis.
This position requires a commitment to helping others and a high level of compassion, empathy and self-awareness; a collaborative nature to work with a multidisciplinary team; resourcefulness, responsiveness and flexibility; superb organizational and communication/ relationship building skills. This is a benefits eligible, term position. This position is based in San Felipe and will require extensive telehealth/video-conferencing, and in-person visits, as permitted.

- Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Fingerprinting, and subsequent clearance, may be required for this position depending on assignment.
- May be required to obtain a Community Support Worker (CSW) certification within six months of hire.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Must be a Keres speaking San Felipe tribal member.
- Mental health training and extensive knowledge of community behavioral health resources.
- Experience working with youth and families in crisis.
- Experience providing outreach, support and training.
- Experience with data collection and reporting.
