Community Behavioral Health Outreach & Engagement Coordinator
The Role: The ideal candidate will be mission-driven and want to make a difference for the people and communities LCS Northwest serves. We are looking for a candidate who will be sensitive and respectful of all people. The ideal candidate for this position will be familiar with and have lived experience as a refugee-immigrant/ BIPOC individual with lived SUD/or Mental Health experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: The position supports LCSNW’s Community Behavioral Health Program in substance use and mental health community outreach and engagement. The Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, leading, and implementing a community outreach and engagement strategy to address behavioral health disparities and prevent substance use disorder in Refugee, Immigrant, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities. The Outreach and Community Engagement coordinator will also work closely with the Community Behavioral Health Program Manager in designing and coordinating all community outreach and engagement events. In addition, through presentations, training, and workshops, they will connect people and communities with resources, education, and information about mental health and substance use disorders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Community engagement through presentations, education, consultations, meetings, workshops.
  • Mobilize, engage, collaborate and partner with community organizations, faith institutions, governmental partners, individuals, families, and youth to implement community-led engagement and awareness processes.
  • Collaborate with LCSNW staff, attend weekly meetings, training.
  • Advocate across systems for Refugee-Immigrant, BIPOC behavioral health equity
  • Facilitate culturally specific community assessment and data management.
  • Complete monthly reports of outreach and engagement activities, data tracking and grant reporting.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree or Certificate in Addiction Counseling/Behavioral Health and knowledge of mental health issues preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver license, proof of car insurance, and access to a vehicle are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Bilingual is a plus!
