Communications Content Specialist

About the Role:
The Communications Content Specialist is responsible for collaborating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of company communications (print, online and video) to promote and publicize Do it Best programs, services, and news to members, prospects, Do it Best staff, vendors and industry media.

Responsibilities include:
Essential
  • Coordinate the company’s social media strategy on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter and report key metrics of its effectiveness
  • Research, write, edit and distribute all stories for Family News and Profit Lines
  • Oversee the creation and scheduling of all video screen messages
  • Develop supporting elements within our company communication plans that introduce new products, programs and important business information to our store owners and staff
  • Assist in the development, writing and production of key messages at company events, including our semi-annual buying markets, conferences and symposiums
  • Consult with stakeholders and draft engaging mydoitbest content that promotes growth through our programs and services
  • Develop and manage KPIs for continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date on corporate standards to ensure that all company communications are accurately represented
Secondary
  • Guide the creation of visual support for key presentations
  • Proof all messages sent out to members for content, design, and corporate standards
  • Fully back up all approval and posting responsibilities for content submitted for mydoitbest
  • Special projects as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements:

Minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, English or related field of study
  • 1 – 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in writing for social media for business applications
  • Demonstrated familiarity with using standard business computer applications (Google Suite, including Gmail, Drive, and Docs)
  • Ability and willingness to learn
