Position Summary: The Communications Associate – Social Media role will work directly with the Sr. Communications Manager and executive leadership to understand social media objectives and needs, make decisions as to the best approach for social campaigns, take ownership of deliverables and solve problems/find solutions as needed. The objective of this role is to support all company departments and partners in improving awareness, engagement, alignment, and change within all the audiences we serve. Work performed in this role supports the company's overall success. Effective communications and marketing are vital to the success of PEAK6 InsurTech and our subsidiaries; the Communications Associate – Social Media is a contributing component to these successes.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Through knowledge and experience, on a daily basis takes ownership to complete and implement social media requests received from leaders to deliver content that meets the goals of the requests on time and on budget.
  • Through knowledge and experience, exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine the best vehicles, channels, and audiences for various social media requests so they have the largest and most effective impact possible.
  • On a daily basis, is directly accountable for managing the social media presence for multiple brands to ensure high levels of traffic and engagement; monitor and respond to comments on behalf of the brand(s) in a timely manner.
  • On a daily and monthly basis, takes ownership to monitor social media performance by analyzing key metrics and making suggestions as to actionable steps to increase reach and positive engagement; stays current on technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
  • Provides additional support for Marketing and Communications by evaluating, establishing and implementing marketing strategies by setting objectives, planning campaign calendars, and creating engaging marketing collateral for social media, web, print, email, and digital; and by suggesting and implementing new features to develop brand awareness, such as promotions and competitions.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to use knowledge, logic, and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches, solutions, or conclusions; confidence to propose alternatives.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and as a collaborative and positive member of a team while handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to willingly accept feedback and use it to grow professionally; proactively asks questions to aid in their growth and development.
  • Excellent graphic design skills and ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video).

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, or related field and/or 5 or more years of related experience including social media, marketing campaigns, graphic design, video and email marketing.
  • Experience implementing advertising and campaigns on social media including Google, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok; includes knowledge of SEO, keyword research and social and Google Analytics
  • Advanced experience with the proper structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; includes the ability to take complex information and "translate" it into language understandable by any audience.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with communication platforms such as HubSpot, WordPress, Wix, and Hootsuite required.
  • Prior working knowledge of insurance industry preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates remotely or in an office environment.
  • Involves frequent collaboration, virtually or in person, with team members, leaders, and other partners.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 15 pounds.

  • Must properly use and care for company equipment.
