Position Title: Commodity Risk Analyst II

Position Purpose:
This position provides independent credit analysis of new and existing commodity counterparties. The incumbent develops critical written analysis of new and existing counterparties and recommends to management, senior management, and potentially the Board of Director’s, appropriate credit limits in compliance with approved hierarchy of credit in the board established risk policy. Analysis includes due diligence of financial information, counterparty credit trends, and subsequent comprehensive, written risk rating opinions. This position requires the use of independent judgment and decision-making. This position manages the credit position of Basin Electric and its subsidiaries, including monitoring and reporting credit positions, and validating collateral postings from and to counterparties.

Qualifications:
To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have an intermediate knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit risk management, and credit risk mitigation, which is acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field and four years of related accounting, finance, or business experience or an unrelated four-year degree and six years of related accounting, finance, or business experience. This position requires excellent negotiation skills, strong analytical and strategic problem solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills. The ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills is also required. The incumbent must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

This position requires frequent sitting and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines.
