We are a new company providing crop spraying services to the CNY area. Currently seeking a NYS Certified Pesticide Applicator to begin operations for this coming season. We are flexible and willing to provide reimbursement for fees associated with obtaining the correct certification that is needed for our intended operation. We are looking for the right candidate for a long term position who is motivated and seeking to grow with the company. Eventually this position will turn into a Supervisory role, leading your own team(s) in the field!

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a NYS Certified Pesticide Applicator in preparation of our upcoming spray season and seek the following qualifications in prospective candidates:

• NYS Pesticide Applicator Certification (Any Category) and general knowledge of various application methods.

• Ability to work a 40+ hour work week in the growing season. Working days and hours subject to weather conditions. We are also flexible to accommodate employee time off as needed (within reason).

• Ability to read/understand labels & calculate mix rates.

• Basic knowledge of PPE and how to use it.

• Basic Data Entry and Record Keeping for pesticide reporting, inventory & licensing updates.

• A valid driver’s license & clean driving record.

• Cleaning spray equipment after use.

• CPR/First aid certification preferred.

• Strong work ethic, showing up ready to work on time. Ability to communicate effectively to ensure job completion.

• Able to reliably meet at job sites or central sites for the day.

Job Duties include:

• Driving to and from job sites in Oneida/Herkimer County and surrounding areas.

• Applying liquid/granular pesticide, fungicide, herbicide and fertilizer treatments.

• Performing property inspections and risk assessment prior to beginning a job.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. daily/regularly.

• Data and inventory recording both handwritten as well as computer entry.

Benefits & Pay:

Pay is dependent on experience and will be modest for the first season. We will discuss at the end of the season for bonuses dependent on performance among other items for additional compensation.

• General pay for this position ranges from $20-30/hour starting. This is subject to performance reviews and willingness to grow. The more you do, the more you are compensated.

• We offer a competitive compensation package that is highly determined by your own performance. This is an ideal position for candidates who are highly motivated to work efficiently. If you are more interested in riding out the clock to go home, this position is not for you.

• (Optional) - You may be asked from time to time to travel out of state, anywhere in the country to perform spraying operations for various contracts. These are *not required* but you can expect to receive very high compensation if you do.
