This position would be based out of the main office in Somerset, PA.

SUMMARY To assist the commercial loan officers in providing quality loan service through effective utilization of support services and performing assigned daily duties effectively and efficiently.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Job requires no teller capability; this job does include maintenance capability for the banks main operating system.
  • Answer telephone and written inquiries concerning loan processing and information with regard to loan documentation.
  • Contact attorneys and insurance agents, complete flood map certifications, and gather necessary account information to assist lenders with all loan documentation as needed.
  • Prepare and update loan data into the financial institution's Laser Pro computer program. Employee must possess the ability to process participation loans, small business loans and in-house commercial loans on an independent basis without assistance from others.
  • Verify accuracy of loan documentation and ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data to comply with bank policy.
  • Prepare checks for disbursement of loans as necessary.
  • Enter commercial accounts onto the DNA system without assistance and compile folders for all loans entered in an orderly manner. Enter exceptions on the DNA system for tracking. Possess the understanding of what exceptions can be removed as information is received after the loan is activated; Remove document exceptions where applicable on commercial loans as information is received.
  • Prepare Commitment Letters, Modification Agreements, and any additional letters or agreements for commercial loan accounts as requested by officers and forward to the appropriate areas for processing.
  • Prepare, verify, and submit documents for UCC filings, titled vehicle liens and mortgages, and verify insurance on these items for all new loans.
  • Prepare and bill Letters of Credit. Maintain reporting on Letters of Credit on a monthly basis.
  • Perform regular administrative duties for officers as needed, including providing telephone support, meeting with visitors in the absence of officers, preparing reports for committee meetings, preparing letters and agreements, closing loans when necessary, and any other duties as requested by the loan officers.
  • This job requires the ability to multi-task, work well with Commercial Lenders and Credit Analysts, work in an atmosphere where interruptions occur frequently and noise volume is average to above average.
  • Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g. BSA Policy).
  • Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A good understanding of financial institution products and services is also necessary.


TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to work with various browser based systems and software systems is mandatory. Must be willing to learn new systems and not have any issues with emerging technology.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policies using proper grammar and accurate spelling. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Desire to understand and utilize systems to their utmost capabilities. Organizational, priority setting, and decision-making skills are also required.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
