Role: Collections / Revenue Cycle Associate- Lead

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate functions related to billing, collecting of patient accounts, refunds, cash issues, fee schedule issues and other collections support related issues
  • Ensure team is working effectivity in resolving third party Accounts Receivables (AR) balances (follow up/billing), processing denials timely, etc.
  • Develop/assist the Revenue Cycle (RC) team to achieve/exceed established collection goals, production expectation, and quality objectives for the organization
  • Provide guidance to improve overall patient collections performance
  • Understand patient accounting, billing, fee schedules and insurance verification and collections policies
  • Consult directly with our patients to identify reasons for late payments and set up payment plans that are mutually agreeable
  • Communicate and convey payment urgency is critical to the overall success of orthodontic treatment plan
  • Review accounts for accuracy of patient responsibility and possible source of payments
  • Contact patients through phone calls, letters, text, and emails to resolve outstanding balances
  • Identify discrepancies, perform research, and analyze account statues accordingly
  • Review and work to prevent aging of accounts and reduce overall aging of invoices
  • · Communicate with ancillary departments when accounts need correction
  • Prepare reports as required to reflect billing/collecting trends, AR review, etc.
  • Process credit card payments or electronic checks transactions in secured system
  • Complete admin tasks, such as photocopying, printing, scanning, sorting / filing / sending forms
  • Establish trust with patients, ensuring that they have the best patient experience
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

Requirements / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1+ years of Patient Collections, Accounts Receivables, and/or Revenue Cycle experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Orthodontic / Dental industry experience is helpful, but not required
  • · Strong computer knowledge, emphasis on MS Office suite
  • Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communications, follow through, and the ability to prioritize, plan, and work cross-functionally
  • Great customer service and outstanding written and communication skills with professional and courteous phone etiquette
  • Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to support the office team
  • Support office community and sponsorship events outside of office
  • Reliable form of transportation
  • Participate in morning huddle, patient chart review, and routine office meetings
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and be a team player
