The Phillies Baseball Academy is hiring Coaches to join our mission-driven team this summer at various locations in PA, NJ, and DE! The Coach is responsible for the supervision of campers while providing a safe and fun learning environment.

Summer 2023 locations include: FDR Park (Philadelphia, PA), Heuser Park (King of Prussia, PA), Montgomery County Community College (Blue Bell, PA), Moorestown High School (Moorestown, NJ), Newtown-Edgmont Little League (Newtown Square, PA), Phelps School (Malvern, PA), Tower Hill School (Wilmington, DE).

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in all camper activities - Coach, manage, umpire, or assist with all camp programs.
  • Work effectively with other coaches and collaborate on various responsibilities.
  • Supervise campers with attention to behavior and group management while serving as a positive role model to campers and peers.
  • Teach age-appropriate baseball skills and techniques in a progressive sequence to boys and girls ages 6 - 14.
  • Inform site director of any concerns regarding the health and safety of the campers.
  • Communicate with clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community.
  • Demonstrate PBA Core Values and Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily.


Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a camp setting preferred.
  • Previous experience playing baseball - high school-level minimum.
  • Youth baseball coaching experience preferred.
  • Coaching courses/licenses/certifications preferred.
  • Minimum age: 18 years old at the start of camp.
  • Hours are typically from 8:15am-4:00pm; Monday - Friday. Schedule may vary depending on location and week.
  • It is understood you will complete all trainings and pre-employment credentials required by PBA and the state you are working in.
  • Push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Respond to emergency situations which may include running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion.
  • Maintain the PBA Code and "Look" at all times.


Reporting Relationship(s)

  • Reports directly to and takes direction from Academy Specialist. May also take direction from and is overall accountable to the Field Manager and Operations Manager.
