Summary: Provides leadership and technical expertise to all CNC machining operations including process adjustments, troubleshooting, setups, and programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates machining process workflow and activities to meet production schedule goals within equipment capacities and available manpower constraints. Identifies resource constraints.
  • Complete machine set-ups and process / fixture adjustments to ensure product meets quality requirements.
  • Approve first articles, monitor in-process quality, and ensure quality standards and processes are upheld.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality and manufacturing issues, including basic machine diagnostics and repairs, in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Collaborates with engineering on machining process development, process improvement, and fixture design to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Completes CNC programming for new products using Surfcam CADCAM software to ensure efficient machining and acceptable quality.
  • Manages inventory of cutting tools and machining supplies, and orders items as needed.
  • Provides training, mentoring, and guidance to CNC Operators.
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed in all machining areas.
  • Performs PM’s as scheduled and ensures that all machines are properly maintained.
  • Run production when needed.
  • Provides input for annual performance reviews
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide daily work direction to CNC Manufacturing Operations.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma and completion of an approved 2 year technical CNC/machining, automotive training program, or equivalent. 4 years prior experience in a manufacturing/machining environment, preferably in the automotive industry. Experience in CNC machining, including setup, operation and fixturing preferred.
