Portland based Steel Manufacturer is seeking Machine Operators. Company is located in NW Industrial area and is willing to train those seeking a career as a CNC operator.

Pay: $21/hour + OT

Shift is Monday-Friday Swing 2:00-10:30pm, 40 hours/week. Overtime is available and is on a voluntary basis only.

Description

The candidate will operate a high-powered cutting to cut, punch or stamp steel components.

What you can expect to do day to day:

• Support CNC operators by prepping materials
• Loading material for job runs.
• Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance
• Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cuts/punches or dimensions and tolerances.
• Maintain shop area, tools and other equipment.

Requirements:

• Have reliable and predictable attendance
• Be self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate machine controls.
• Ability to read and understand written directions and drawings
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., stand on feet for 8 or more hours, work in hot/cold environment.
• Must be an independent worker who can be given tasks to complete without constant supervision after initial training
• Has worked with powered hand tools-construction experience a plus
• Has worked with metal, even as a hobby
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and safety

Strongly Preferred:

• Has worked with computer controlled (CNC) equipment
